Lead futures slide on fall in demand

Lead futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as investors and speculators remained on the sidelines in the industrial metal amidst muted physical demand for lead, from battery-makers, in the domestic spot market.
Further, sluggish physical demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market, influenced prices of lead at futures trade. At the MCX, lead futures for November 2016 contract is trading at Rs 137.35 per kg, down by 0.47 per cent, after opening at Rs 137.40, against a previous close of Rs 138. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 137 (at 11:00 hours).

Subdued demand drags down aluminium futures by 1%

Aluminium futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as participants indulged in trimming their positions in the industrial metal amidst subdued physical demand for aluminium in the domestic spot market.
Further, a fall in physical demand for aluminium at the domestic spot market was due to exiting of positions by traders in the spot markets, influenced aluminium prices at futures trade.
At the MCX, aluminium futures for November 2016 contract is trading at Rs 114.40 per kg, down by 1 per cent, after opening at Rs 114.80, against a previous close of Rs 115.55. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 114.35 (at 10:57 hours).

Zinc futures drop 1.06% on muted demand

Zinc futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as investors and speculators trimmed their positions in the industrial metal amid a fall in physical demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets.
Further, participants indulged in exiting their positions in the industrial metal due to slide in physical demand from consuming industries, influenced prices of zinc at futures trade. At the MCX, zinc futures for November 2016 contract is trading at Rs 162.90 per kg, down by 1.06 per cent, after opening at Rs 163, against a previous close of Rs 164.65. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 162.65 (at 10:52 hours).
