06/10/2016 08:52
Crude oil futures closed higher in the domestic market on Wednesday after U.S. government data showed that crude stockpiles fell unexpectedly, for a fifth-straight week. Crude-oil inventories have declined for five weeks in a row and each of those weekly declines came as a surprise to market analysts. Oil strategists have been consistently forecasting increases for each of those weeks. At the MCX, crude oil futures for October 2016 contract closed at Rs 3324 per barrel, up by 1.81 per cent, after opening at Rs 3270, against a previous close of Rs 3265. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 3330.

Silver dips on weak global cues
06/10/2016 08:51
Silver futures closed lower in the domestic market on Wednesday as participants engaged in trimming their positions taking weak cues from global market. Marketmen attributed the fall in silver prices at futures trade to a weak trend in the precious metals overseas and profit-booking by participants at existing levels. At the MCX, silver futures for December 2016 contract closed at Rs 42,800 per kg, down by 0.19 per cent, after opening at Rs 42,950, against a previous close of Rs 42,881. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 42,120.

Gold down on strong US services data
06/10/2016 08:50
Gold futures closed lower in the domestic market on Wednesday as a better-than-expected reading on the U.S. services sector helped dull the metal’s investment appeal. Prices had spent part of the session struggling to rebound from Tuesday’s 3.3 per cent drop, but analysts had warned that any recovery in prices would be short-lived amid ongoing expectations for a U.S. interest-rate hike later this year. At the MCX, gold futures for October 2016 contract ended at Rs 29786 per 10 grams, down by 0.68 per cent, after opening at Rs 30,036, against a previous close of Rs 29,991. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 29,786.
