Lead futures drop 0.62% on ease of demand

Lead futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday as investors and speculators remained on the sidelines in the industrial metal due to fall in physical demand for lead, from battery-makers, in the domestic spot market. Further, a drop in physical demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market, influenced prices of lead at futures trade. At the MCX, lead futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 136.70 per kg, down by 0.62 per cent, after opening at Rs 137.25, against a previous close of Rs 137.55. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 136.70 (at 10:52 hours).

Aluminium futures slide 0.40% on sluggish demand

Aluminium futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday as participants indulged in trimming their positions in the industrial metal amidst drop in physical demand for aluminium in the domestic spot market. Further, a slide in physical demand for aluminium at the domestic spot market was due to exiting of positions by traders in the spot markets, influenced aluminium prices at futures trade. At the MCX, aluminium futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 111.60 per kg, down by 0.40 per cent, after opening at Rs 111.70, against a previous close of Rs 112.05. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 111.60 (at 10:52 hours).

Subdued physical demand bites zinc

Zinc futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday as investors and speculators remained on the sidelines in the industrial metal amid subdued physical demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets. Further, participants indulged in trimming their positions in the industrial metal due to fall in demand from consuming industries, influenced prices of zinc at futures trade. At the MCX, zinc futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 155.90 per kg, up by 0.26 per cent, after opening at Rs 156.30, against a previous close of Rs 156.30. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 155.85 (at 10:42 hours).
