Lead futures up on spot demand

Lead futures were trading higher during the morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday on rising demand from battery makers. Furthermore, a firming trend in base metals overseas supported the upside in metal prices. At the MCX, lead futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 133.35 per kg, up by 0.11 per cent, after opening at Rs 133.20, against a previous close of Rs 133.20. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 133.45 (at 11:26 hours).

Aluminium futures up on spot demand

Aluminium futures were trading higher during the morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday as speculators built up fresh positions on uptick in demand from consuming industries in the spot market. Analysts said fresh positions created by participants following pickup in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly influenced aluminium prices at futures trade. At the MCX, aluminium futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 108.50 per kg, up by 0.05 per cent, after opening at Rs 108.50, against a previous close of Rs 108.45. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 108.75 (at 11:18 hours).

Uptick in demand lifts cardamom futures by 1.57%

Cardamom futures were trading higher during the morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday as investors and speculators build up fresh positions in the agri-commodity amid uptick in physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market. Further, insufficient supplies on restricted physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, too supported the uptrend in the domestic cardamom prices. At the MCX, cardamom futures for November 2016 contract is trading at Rs 1192.90 per kg, up by 1.57 per cent, after opening at Rs 1185, against a previous close of Rs 1174.50. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 1200 (at 11:03 hours).

Mentha oil futures dip by 0.23%

Mentha oil futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Thursday as participants trimmed their positions, despite increasing demand from major consuming industries against restricted supplies from major producing regions. At the MCX, mentha oil futures for October 2016 contract were trading at Rs 910 per kg, down by 0.23 per cent after opening at Rs 912.50, against the previous closing price of Rs 912.10. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 907.80 (at 11:08 hours).

Analysts said fresh positions created by participants following pickup in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly influenced aluminium prices at futures trade. At the MCX, aluminium futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 108.50 per kg, up by 0.05 per cent, after opening at Rs 108.50, against a previous close of Rs 108.45. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 108.75 (at 11:18 hours).
