Yellow metal little changed on muted demand

Gold futures were little changed during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as investors and speculators cut down their positions in the precious metal amid muted demand at the domestic market.
Further, trimming of positions by traders on diminishing demand at the domestic spot market dragged gold futures to trade lower.
At the MCX, gold futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 29,964 per 10 grams, down by 0.09 per cent, after opening at Rs 30,036, against a previous close of Rs 29,991. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 29,950 (at 14:44 hours).

Sluggish demand drags down lead futures by 0.51%

Lead futures were trading lower during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as participants trimmed their positions in the industrial metal due to a decline in physical demand for lead, from battery-makers, in the domestic spot market.
Further, a drop in demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market, influenced the prices of lead at futures trade. At the MCX, lead futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 137.05 per kg, down by 0.51 per cent, after opening at Rs 137.35, against a previous close of Rs 137.75. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 136.65 (at 14:39 hours).

Nickel futures dip on ease of supply concerns

Nickel futures were trading lower during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Wednesday as investors and speculators trimmed their positions amid slide in spot demand tracking weak trend overseas.
The fall in prices of nickel was in-line with a weak treand in global markets as supply concerns eased amid speculation that Philippine mines could avoid shutdowns after a government audit of producers. At the MCX, nickel futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 669.90 per kg, down by 0.27 per cent, after opening at Rs 672.50, against a previous close of Rs 671.70. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 666.80 (at 12:58 hours).
