White metal regains sheen on global cues

Silver futures were trading higher during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Friday as investors and speculators widened their positions in the precious metals amid a firm trend in global markets.
Further, building up of positions by participants tracking a slightly better trend in global markets for precious metals, supported prices for silver at futures trade.
At the MCX, silver futures for December 2016 contract is trading at Rs 41725 per kg, up by 0.49 per cent, after opening at Rs 41625, against a previous close of Rs 41521. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 41827 (at 15:27 hours).

Copper futures little changed on low demand, global cues

Copper futures were little changed during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Friday as participants remained on the sidelines in the industrial metal on low physical demand for copper from consuming industries coupled with weak overseas cues. Further, the slide in prices for copper was attributed to a weak global trend where metal weakened and a decrease in demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets, too influenced copper prices at futures trade.
At the MCX, copper futures for November 2016 contract is trading at Rs 320.10 per kg, down by 0.02 per cent, after opening at Rs 319.55, against a previous close of Rs 320.15. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 319.55 (at 14:17 hours).

Yellow metal shines on overseas cues

Gold futures were trading higher during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Friday as investors and speculators widened their positions in the precious metal on pick up in demand at the domestic spot market on positive cues from global markets.
Further, building up of positions by participants was in-line with a positive trend in overseas markets.
At the MCX, gold futures for December 2016 contract is trading at Rs 29638 per 10 grams, up by 0.21 per cent, after opening at Rs 29600, against a previous close of Rs 29575. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 29708 (at 13:41 hours).

Lead futures dip on sluggish demand

Lead futures were trading lower during the noon trade in the domestic market on Friday as participants trimmed their positions in the industrial metal due to sluggish physical demand for lead, from battery-makers, in the domestic spot market.
Further, a drop in demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market, influenced prices of lead at futures trade. At the MCX, lead futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 137.15 per kg, down by 0.11 per cent, after opening at Rs 137.30, against a previous close of Rs 137.30. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 137.05 (at 12:26 hours).

Subdued demand drags down aluminium futures by 0.13%

Aluminium futures were trading lower during the noon trade in the domestic market on Friday as participants trimmed their positions in the industrial metal amidst subdued physical demand for aluminium in the domestic spot market.
Further, sluggish demand for aluminium at the domestic spot market was due to exiting of positions by participants in the spot markets, influenced aluminium prices at futures trade.
At the MCX, aluminium futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 111.50 per kg, down by 0.13 per cent, after opening at Rs 111.85, against a previous close of Rs 111.65. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 111.35 (at 12:22 hours).
