Crude oil futures up 0.42% on overseas cues

Crude oil futures were trading higher during the evening trade in the domestic market on Monday as investors and speculators extended their positions in the energy commodity after SA’s energy minister Khalid al-Falih said that he was optimistic major oil producers could agree to cut production by November and that it wasn’t unthinkable that crude prices could rise another 20 per cent this year to USD 60 a barrel.
However, traders remained doubtful that oil producers can reach a meaningful output cut deal prompted some speculators to unwind bullish bets.
At the MCX, crude oil futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 3337 per barrel, up by 0.42 per cent, after opening at Rs 3292, against a previous close of Rs 3323. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 3348 (at 17:03 hours).http://www.dinakaran.com/News_Detail.asp?Nid=251112

Spot demand lifts copper futures by 0.33%

Copper futures were trading higher during the evening trade in the domestic market on Monday as participants widened their positions in the industrial metal on rise in physical demand for copper from consuming industries. Further, an increase in prices for copper was attributed to a better trend in base metals at the domestic spot markets on pick-up in demand from consuming industries, supported copper prices at futures trade.
At the MCX, copper futures for November 2016 contract is trading at Rs 322.60 per kg, up by 0.33 per cent, after opening at Rs 322, against a previous close of Rs 321.55. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 323.70 (at 16:56 hours).

White metal regains sheen on overseas cues

Silver futures were trading higher during the evening trade in the domestic market on Monday as investors and speculators widened their positions in the precious metals amid firm trend in global markets.
Further, building up of positions by participants tracking a slightly better trend in global markets for precious metals, supported prices for silver at futures trade.
At the MCX, silver futures for December 2016 contract is trading at Rs 42396 per kg, up by 1.27 per cent, after opening at Rs 42100, against a previous close of Rs 41865. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 42579 (at 16:50 hours).
