White metal shines on positive overseas cues

Silver futures were trading higher during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as investors widened their bets in the precious metal amid firming global trends.
Further, analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at futures trade to a firming trend in the precious metal overseas as dollar weakened on an unexpected fall in US manufacturing index raised demand for the precious metals as a safe-haven.
At the MCX, silver futures for December 2016 contract is trading at Rs 42225 per kg, up by 0.85 per cent, after opening at Rs 42099, against a previous close of Rs 41871. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 42333 (at 14:40 hours).

Copper futures up on rising demand

Copper futures were trading higher during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as participants widened their positions in the industrial metal amid rise in physical demand for copper in the domestic spot market.
Further, an increase in demand for copper at the domestic spot market was led by building up of fresh positions by investors in the spot markets, supported copper prices at futures trade.
At the MCX, copper futures for November 2016 contract is trading at Rs 314.30 per kg, up by 0.30 per cent, after opening at Rs 313.90, against a previous close of Rs 313.35. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 315.15 (at 14:28 hours).
