Aluminium gains as demand picks up

Aluminium futures were trading higher during the afternoon trade in the domestic market on Friday as speculators enlarged positions, driven by rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
Analysts said increasing of positions by participants, driven by rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly led to rise in aluminium prices at futures trade.
At the MCX, aluminium futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 112.80 per kg, up by 0.04 per cent, after opening at Rs 112.85, against a previous close of Rs 112.75. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 112.95 (at 12:27 hours).

Crude oil rises as US output drops

Crude oil futures were trading higher in the domestic market on Friday in the wake of a U.S. government report that revealed the first weekly rise in crude supplies since the end of August, but also a drop in output for the lower 48 states to the lowest level in over two years.
At the MCX, crude oil futures for October 2016 contract was trading at Rs 3393 per barrel, up by 0.83 per cent, after opening at Rs 3386, against a previous close of Rs 3365. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 3402. (At 12:33 PM).

Muted demand drags down nickel futures

Nickel futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Friday as investors and speculators exited their positions in the industrial metal amid muted physical demand for nickel from major consuming industries in the domestic spot market. The prices of nickel fell due to trimming of positions by participants in the industrial metal on account of slide in spot demand in the domestic spot market. At the MCX, nickel futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 694.60 per kg, down by 0.26 per cent, after opening at Rs 696.60, against a previous close of Rs 696.40. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 694.10 (at 11:27 hours).

Mentha oil futures gain on surge in demand

Mentha oil futures were trading higher during the morning trade in the domestic market on Friday as participants build up fresh positions in the agri-commodity amid pick up in physical demand for mentha oil from major consuming industries in the domestic spot market. At the MCX, mentha oil futures for October 2016 contract were trading at Rs 892.60 per kg, up by 1.09 per cent after opening at Rs 884.30, against the previous closing price of Rs 883. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 896 (at 11:34 hours).

Cardamom futures up 1.26% on pickup in demand

Cardamom futures were trading higher during the morning trade in the domestic market on Friday as investors and speculators build up fresh positions in the agri-commodity amid uptick in physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market. Further, insufficient supplies on restricted physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, too supported the uptrend in the domestic cardamom prices. At the MCX, cardamom futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 1190 per kg, up by 1.26 per cent, after opening at Rs 1190, against a previous close of Rs 1175.20. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 1190 (at 11:31 hours).
