Uptick in demand lifts Aluminium futures by 0.28%

Aluminium futures were trading higher during the morning trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as participants widened their positions amidst uptick in physical demand for aluminium in the domestic spot market.
Further, a rise in demand for aluminium at the domestic spot market was led by building up of fresh positions by participants in the spot markets, supported aluminium prices at futures trade.
At the MCX, aluminium futures for September 2016 contract is trading at Rs 105.70 per kg, up by 0.28 per cent, after opening at Rs 105.50, against a previous close of Rs 105.40. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 105.80 (at 10:45 hours).
Zinc futures gain on upsurge in demand

Zinc futures were trading higher during the morning trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as investors and speculators build up fresh positions amid increasing demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot markets.
Further, an upsurge in demand for zinc at the domestic spot market was led by widening of positions by traders in the spot markets, supported zinc prices at futures trade. At the MCX, zinc futures for September 2016 contract is trading at Rs 150.80 per kg, up by 0.23 per cent, after opening at Rs 150.95, against a previous close of Rs 150.45. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 151.05 (at 10:40 hours).
Muted demand drags down nickel futures by 0.18%

Nickel futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as investors and speculators remained on the sidelines amid decline in physical demand from alloy-makers at the domestic spot market.
Further, a drop in domestic demand from alloy-makers at the spot markets, influenced the downtrend in nickel prices at futures trade. At the MCX, nickel futures for September 2016 contract is trading at Rs 677.50 per kg, down by 0.18 per cent, after opening at Rs 679, against a previous close of Rs 678.70. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 677 (at 10:35 hours).
Mentha oil futures little changed on rising demand

Mentha oil futures were little changed during the morning trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as participants indulged in building up of fresh positions in the agri-commodity amid an increase in physical demand from major consuming industries for mentha oil in the domestic spot market.
Further, a rise in demand for mentha oil futures was attributed to widening of positions by traders in the spot market, supported prices of mentha oil at futures trade.
At the MCX, mentha oil futures for September 2016 contract were trading at Rs 891.40 per kg, up by 0.09 per cent after opening at Rs 891, against the previous closing price of Rs 890.60. It touched the intra-day high of Rs 891.40 (at 10:28 hours).
Cardamom futures slide on sluggish demand

Cardamom futures were trading lower during the morning trade in the domestic market on Tuesday as investors and speculators cut down their positions in the agri-commodity amid slide in physical demand for cardamom in the domestic spot market. Further, sufficient supplies amid higher physical arrivals from the major cardamom producing regions, too influenced the downtrend in the domestic cardamom prices. At the MCX, cardamom futures for October 2016 contract is trading at Rs 1,178 per kg, down by 0.37 per cent, after opening at Rs 1,183, against a previous close of Rs 1,182.40. It touched the intra-day low of Rs 1,177.30 (at 10:24 hours).
